Getting Started

What is PurpleProz?

PurpleProz is a personal knowledge navigator that helps you prepare for encounters with professionals — doctors, lawyers, contractors, financial advisors, and others. It gives you the vocabulary, the questions, the context, and the organized information you need to engage as an informed participant rather than a passive recipient.

Who is PurpleProz for?

Anyone who has ever nodded along in a professional's office without fully understanding what was being said. Anyone who has signed a document they didn't fully understand. Anyone who suspects a quote is too high but doesn't know enough to push back. If you've ever wished you had a knowledgeable friend to help you prepare — PurpleProz is that friend.

Is PurpleProz free?

You receive 50 free credits when you create an account — no credit card required. Credits are used when you run AI analyses, generate reports, or interpret documents. When you need more, you can purchase them in bundles starting at $10. There is no subscription and no automatic billing unless you choose the auto-recharge option in Settings.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits never expire.

What is a "vertical"?

A vertical is a domain area — Medical, Legal, Financial, Trades, and so on. Each vertical has its own set of tools and features tailored to that area. Medical is the first vertical available. Others are coming.

What verticals are currently available?

Medical is live now. Dental, Mental Health, Legal, Financial, Accounting, Veterinary, and Trades are in development. If there's a domain you'd particularly like to see, contact us at hello@purpleproz.com.

Can PurpleProz save me money?

Potentially — and often in ways you wouldn't expect. Removing an unnecessary medication. Avoiding an unneeded scan. Specifying exactly what services you need from a contractor and what you don't. Catching a clause in a contract that leaves you exposed.

But saving money is not the only objective. Medical tests carry risk. Faulty contracts leave you vulnerable. Uninformed decisions in any professional context can have consequences that go well beyond the bill.

Just one good question asked at the right moment — one idea surfaced, one red flag spotted — can be worth far more than the cost of the tool.

Your Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

Your personal records — medical history, documents, notes, encounter logs, and everything else you enter — are stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted to PurpleProz servers. When you export a backup or transfer your data, the file is encrypted automatically using your account credentials, so even if someone finds that file, they cannot read it without being logged in as you.

Does PurpleProz store my medical, legal, or financial records?

No. PurpleProz servers only store your email address, credit balance, transaction history, and display preferences. Your personal records live entirely on your device.

What happens to my data when I use AI features?

When you run an AI analysis or generate a report, the relevant content from your records is sent to Anthropic's Claude for processing. This means that content — which may include personal or health-related information — is transmitted to and processed by Anthropic.

We want to be straightforward about this: while your data never touches PurpleProz servers, it does reach Anthropic when you use AI features. Anthropic processes it under their own privacy policy and states that API data is not used to train their models by default.

You can review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. If you prefer not to send sensitive content to AI processing, you can type a summary instead of submitting documents directly — you are always in control of what gets submitted.

My lab report has my name, doctor, and lab on it. How do I prevent the AI from seeing that?

Good instinct. Instead of uploading the document directly, type or paste only the parts you want analyzed — the test names and results, for example — and leave out your name and any identifying details. You can also take a photo and crop it to show only the results section. You are always in control of exactly what gets sent for analysis.

Do I have to send my documents to the AI?

No. If you prefer not to share document images or sensitive content with AI processing, you can type or summarize your information instead. You decide what gets submitted.

Is PurpleProz HIPAA compliant?

PurpleProz is not a Covered Entity under HIPAA and does not currently hold a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with Anthropic or any other service provider. Users with specific HIPAA compliance requirements should be aware of this before using AI features.

Why does the Google sign-in screen show a technical URL?

When you sign in with Google, the process passes through Supabase, our authentication provider. The URL you briefly see is Supabase's sign-in page — this is normal and expected. Your account and data are fully managed under the PurpleProz platform.

Moving & Protecting Your Data

I want to move my data to another device — like a new phone. What do I do?

Use the Transfer option from your Dashboard. This exports your data as an encrypted file and clears it from your current device — marking it as an intentional move. On your new device, log in to your PurpleProz account and use the Import option to load the file. Your data will be restored and the new device will become your active device.

Transfer is the recommended method when you are switching devices. It ensures only one device holds your data at a time.

How do I keep my data backed up to my private cloud service?

Use the Backup option from your Dashboard. This exports an encrypted copy of your data as a file you can save anywhere — iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, a USB drive, wherever you like. We recommend doing this regularly, especially after adding new records. The file is encrypted with your account credentials, so it is unreadable to anyone who doesn't log in as you.

What is the difference between Transfer and Backup?

Transfer is for moving to a new device — it exports your data and clears it from the current device. Backup is for making a safety copy — it exports your data without clearing anything. Use Transfer when switching devices, Backup for routine protection.

I lost my phone. Can you retrieve my data?

We cannot — your data was never on our servers. However, if you have a Backup file saved to iCloud, Google Drive, or another cloud service, you can restore from that. Log in on your new device, go to Import, and load your most recent backup file. This is why we strongly recommend keeping regular backups in a cloud service you control.

Why can't I use PurpleProz on two devices at the same time?

Because your data lives only on your device — not on a server — there is no central copy to keep in sync. If you edited records on two devices simultaneously, there would be no reliable way to merge those changes, and you could end up with conflicting or lost data.

The single-device model is a deliberate privacy choice. Your records never pass through our servers, which means we cannot sync them either. Transfer is the supported way to move between devices.

Are my backup files encrypted?

Yes. Both Transfer and Backup files are automatically encrypted using your account credentials before they are saved to your device. The encryption happens locally — no key is ever sent to PurpleProz servers. Only someone logged in to your account can open the file. If someone finds your backup in your cloud storage, it is unreadable to them.

Using the App

Your terminology is over my head. Can you tone it down a bit?

Yes — and that feedback is valuable. Go to Settings and look for the Difficulty Level option. Set it to Simple or Basic and the AI responses will use plain, everyday language instead of medical or technical terms. If something is still confusing, the Contact page is always open — real feedback from real users helps us improve.

I can't read this — the font is too small.

Go to Settings and find the Text Size option. You can make the text larger in several steps until it is comfortable to read. The change applies immediately across the whole app.

I don't have internet at the moment. What still works?

You can view, edit, and add to your personal records at any time without an internet connection — your data is on your device and always accessible. What requires internet: all AI features, including analysis, report generation, and document interpretation. Logging in for the first time on a device also requires internet.

Can I use PurpleProz for a family member?

Yes. You can create and manage records for family members, friends, or anyone you are helping. Enter their information, then export the data as a named file — for example "dad" or "grandmaT" — and save it to your device. You can reload any saved profile at any time by importing the file. One account can manage as many people as you need.

How do I save and reload a profile?

Use the Backup option to save your current profile as an encrypted file. Give it a meaningful name. To reload it later, use the Import option and select the file. We recommend saving regularly, especially after adding new information.

Can I use PurpleProz on my phone?

Yes — PurpleProz works on mobile browsers and can be added to your home screen for quick access. A dedicated app may come in the future.

Is the information PurpleProz provides reliable?

PurpleProz is a preparation and organization tool, not a substitute for professional advice. AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information with a qualified professional. Nothing in PurpleProz constitutes medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Account

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time from your Settings page. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your email address, credit balance, transaction history, and settings are removed from our systems instantly. Your local records on your device are not affected — you manage those directly.

What happens to my credits if I delete my account?

Credits are non-refundable upon account deletion. If you think you may want to return, consider whether your remaining credits are worth keeping the account open.

Can I switch from Google login to email and password?

Yes — without losing your credits or data. Go to Settings → Account and add an email/password login to your existing account. Both sign-in methods will then work for the same account. You can also add Google login to an email/password account the same way.

Can I change my email address?

Yes, from Settings → Account, if you signed up with email and password. Google users manage their email address through their Google account.
